International Credit Union Day Recap
Since 1948, Credit Unions around the globe celebrate International Credit Union Day on the third Thursday of every October. So, what exactly is International Credit Union Day? It is a holiday where credit unions come together to reflect upon our history, promote achievements, and share members experiences. U.S Eagle is a huge fan of International Credit Union Day aka the Christmas of Credit Unions. In years past, we have provided a free hot-dog lunch for our members, but this year we decided to change things up a bit while still holding true to our tradition!
The tradition continued! Free hot-dog lunches served at our Osuna, Tennessee, and Irving branches. We purchased nearly 200 hot-dogs, all the fixings, and lots of soft drinks. Lunch was served by our Executive Team. Our CEO, CFO, COO, and CLO made time to chat with our members and answer their questions, just one way we exhibit the credit union difference!
Our Third Street, Motor, Learning, Santa Ana, and Santa Fe branches provided members with delicious healthy alternatives. Complimentary granola bars, fresh fruit, and drinks were available for our members. Needless to say we didn’t have any leftovers; we handed out over 100 granola bars and 125 pieces of fruit.
We invited our friends at Southwest Federal Credit Union and First Financial Credit Union to join us in celebrating International Credit Union Day at Berg Park in Farmington. U.S. Eagle provided the San Juan community with a free catered lunch provided by Fuddruckers. The celebration was a huge success as credit union members came together to celebrate the credit union difference. Shout out to 102KTRA for helping us promote International Credit Union Day! Over 125 people from the Four Corners area enjoyed lunch and had great conversations with team members from U.S. Eagle, Southwest Federal, and First Financial.
- Young Professionals of Albuquerque and the Future Fund
We invited members from Young Professionals of Albuquerque and Albuquerque Community Foundation's the Future Fund to celebrate International Credit Union Day at an after-hours networking event at our 3rd Street Branch. Attendees learned about International Credit Union Day and how they could get involved with the many volunteer opportunities at U.S. Eagle. Hors d’oeuvres were provided by Slate Street Café.
Thank you to all our members who celebrated the credit union difference with us!
