Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Application Form

This is your credit union – help lead it.

As a member-owned cooperative, U.S. Eagle relies on volunteers who care about our communities and believe everyone deserves financial well-being. Through volunteer opportunities at the credit union, you’ll learn, grow, build relationships and, for all of us, it’s an opportunity to be a part of something larger than oneself.

If you’re passionate about making a difference – and willing to learn – we invite you to explore serving as a volunteer leader. You don’t need financial expertise – we are looking for diverse perspectives and a passion for people.

How does it work and why does it matter?

Committee service is an ideal entry point for members interested in leadership. Committees:

  • Focus on specific areas of governance
  • Prepare recommendations for the full board
  • Provide a training pathway for future directors
  • Allow members to contribute without the full commitment of board service

What are the expectations?

  • Attend regular meetings (monthly or quarterly)
  • Review materials in advance
  • Ask thoughtful questions and provide perspective
  • Maintain confidentiality and act in the best interest of the credit union
  • Most committee roles require 5-10 hours per month

Are there areas of professional expertise that are preferred?

We are looking for diverse perspectives, but the following professional backgrounds would be valuable:

  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Cybersecurity
  • Auditing
  • Finance & Accounting
  • Policy & Governance
  • Community Partnership

What might the pathway from committee service to the Board of Directors look like?

  1. Committee Volunteer
  2. Learn credit union operations and governance
  3. Build experience and confidence
  4. Committee Leadership
  5. Deeper exposure to board-level discussions
  6. Board Candidate
  7. May run by petition, per bylaws
  8. Board Election
  9. Elected by the membership at the Annual Meeting

Not all committee members seek board service, but committee experience strongly prepares and qualifies interested candidates.

Additional Opportunities:

Our volunteer opportunities aren’t limited to U.S. Eagle committees and boards. Several times each year, we ‘make it better’ for everyone in our communities by volunteering at and for food banks, animal shelter drives, environmental sustainability and so much more. It turns out, the best place to make a difference for non-profits in our communities is at your not-for-profit credit union.

If you have an interest in volunteering and want to make a difference, please submit a volunteer form by clicking the button below and indicating how you’d like to serve your community and your credit union.
