2025 has been a year of growth, collaboration, and meaningful change for ARNIA Foundation. From expanding financial literacy programs to supporting survivors of domestic violence, our mission-driven initiatives are creating ripples of impact across New Mexico communities. In honor of Giving Tuesday, here’s a look at what we’ve accomplished so far and how you can help us do even more.
At ARNIA Foundation, we believe that if discrimination, lack of financial literacy, equal access, and equal opportunity limit just one person, it limits us all. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we support charitable activities by making grants to non-credit union, nonprofit organizations and institutions. Our work reflects our “people mean more” philosophy by improving the quality of life in the communities we serve by promoting financial health, knowledge, and well-being. We generously give to programs and projects that make life better.
The name ARNIA means “strong as an eagle,” rooted in Native American origins—a symbol of strength and resilience that guides everything we do.
Financial Literacy Campaign
Our cornerstone initiative this year has been financial education. Through partnerships with five incredible organizations, we delivered 23 hours of training on budgeting, credit scores, fraud prevention, and debt management using tools like EverFi, Mad City Money, and interactive games. By Q3, we reached 467 individuals—up from just 122 in Q1.
Partner Organizations and Reach:
- Santa Fe Recovery Center – 123 participants
- Boys & Girls Club of Farmington – 267 participants
- Rio Grande Food Project – 28 participants
- TenderLove Community Center – 32 participants
- Las Vegas-San Miguel Chamber of Commerce – 17 participants
Each partner received a $10,000 unrestricted donation, and an additional $8,009 raised through our spring popcorn sale was shared equally among them.
CU SAFE Program Expansion
Through CU SAFE (Credit Unions Survivor Alliance for Financial Empowerment), we’re breaking the cycle of financial abuse tied to domestic violence. In partnership with the Domestic Violence Resource Center, survivors have accessed safe lending products and personalized financial coaching. To date, 53 loans have been provided by U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union, helping survivors rebuild their financial lives with dignity and security.
enrichEd Teacher’s Grant Program
Educators are the backbone of financial literacy. This year, we received 37 applications for classroom projects across San Juan County, Albuquerque Metro, and Santa Fe County. $20,000 in grants were awarded with amounts ranging from $500–$2,500. Learn more about the 2025 winners here.
Community Engagement & Fundraising
From Lunch & Learn sessions to creative fundraisers like popcorn sales, calendar raffles, and our first-ever Comedy Night, we’ve raised thousands to support our nonprofit partners. Every dollar helps amplify their missions.
