Annual Meeting and Election Notice for 2023

The nominating Committee has nominated two candidates for the two open positions for US Eagle Federal Credit Union's Board of Directors to be filled in 2023.

 

Nancy K. Haines

Nancy K. Haines has been a member of the credit union since 1983. She was elected to the Board in 1988 where she has held positions of Director, 1st Vice Chairman, and Chairman until 2003.  In 2011 she returned as Board Advisor and since 2014 has served as Director, Chairman and currently holds the position of 1st Vice Chairman of the Board. Nancy’s background is financial, and she brings her business experience to US Eagle while always remembering the human element of helping members succeed in their financial well-being. Her goal is to never forget our members while maintaining the safety and soundness of the credit union. She recently retired as Treasurer of the Village of Los Ranchos.

 

Kevin McMahon

Kevin McMahon has been a member of the credit union for 6 years.  He has served as a volunteer since 2018 and was elected to Chair the Board of Directors in 2022.  Mr. McMahon holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Math, and an MBA in Management Information Systems, both degrees earned at the University of New Mexico. In 2019 he retired after 31 years at Sandia National Laboratories, the last 17 years of which he served as a department manager in the area of Commercial Nuclear Fuel Cycle Research and Development. He currently provides consultation services for nuclear energy research and database archival.  Prior to his work at Sandia Labs, Mr. McMahon worked as the Collections Manager at Citicorp, and as a Chemistry Teacher at Eldorado High School.  He has also served on a Board of Directors at a local not-for-profit organization, including terms as Board Chair, Supervisory Committee Chair, and Chairs of other subcommittees.



Nomination Process

Nominations for the Board of Directors may be made by the Nominating Committee or by petition. The following requirements must be met to petition for nomination:

  1. An official petition must be secured from U.S. Eagle and returned no later than February 17, 2023. The petition must be signed by at least 500 credit union members in good standing and must include all account numbers.  The members must be at least 18 years of age.

     

  2. Written statement of qualifications, biographical information, and a willingness to serve a three-year term, if elected, must accompany the petition.

     

Voting Procedures: The Nominating Committee’s slate of candidates will be voted upon by plurality vote by electronic device or mail ballot.  If any additional valid nominations by petition are received, per the nominating procedures outlined, those nominees will be added to the Slate of Candidates and voted upon to fill the current vacancies. If there is only one nomination for each position, nominees will be approved by acclamation.

Results of the election will be announced at the Annual Meeting on May 3, 2023.
